Here is 16" Ruthie doll by the Horsman Doll Company and is still tied in her original box and has her original hang tag. She was made in 1956, and can be found on page 184 of "Horsman Dolls Identification & Value Guide" by Don Jensen. Be sure to click on the photos to see close ups of her.
 
Ruthie was one of Horsman's most durable names. According to this book, Ruthie grew up to become an "all new" straight-leg toddler in 1959. She had Perma-Curl hair and came in many different outfits.
 
She has saran rooted blonde hair which is full and shiny. She has clear blue sleep eyes with full lashes, and they open and close easily; and a rosy mouth. She has no odors.
 
She is wearing her original blue cotton dress trimmed in white, hat, panties, shoes and socks.
 
She comes in her original box, in very good condition. She also has her original hang tag.
