Click on images to enlarge Here is a 25" Rosebud doll by Horsman manufactured in 1926. She is marked E.I.H. Co., Inc. on her back. Be sure to click on the photos to see close ups of her beautiful face.
She is wearing a lovely reproduction
dress with white background and tiny rosebuds scattered throughout, trimmed
with lace, with a matching bonnet. Underneath is a slip with attached panties,
identical to the original. She has replaced shoes and socks.
Rosebud has a brown human hair wig in
excellent condition. She has nice coloring on her face and knees, and back of
her hands. She has three upper teeth and rosy lips. Rosebud has beautiful tin
eyes. She has full lashes and her eyes open and close easily. She has painted
upper and lower lashes, with red dots in the corner of her eyes and nostrils.
She has two dimples on her cheeks. I have been told that this is Dimple's big
sister. Her paint is all original, she has NOT been repainted.
This is a very large and heavy doll.
She has composition head, arms and chunky legs that are cloth above the
thighs. They are jointed at the hip. Her cloth firmly stuffed, and her head
turns.
She has no cracks or splits, and
virtually no crazing, other than slight surface lines on her face, hard to
see. All of her chubby fingers are accounted for.
This is a beautiful large doll, and
very hard to find in this condition. She will make a nice addition to any doll
collection.
